For my English composition class I was asked to write showing scenes that depict an event from my everyday life.
Familiar place:
I sat there still. I felt the air wisp past my shoulder blades, and the goosebumps raise above my skin. The sky was calm but never ending. This sunset was beyond words. I looked over to Derek and smiled, but he didn't move. The softness of his skin illuminated by the sun's tender rays. His baby blue eyes were bright as ever; so gentle and loving. His beauty was beyond words.
Strange place:
There were many people, moving up and down the walk ways swiftly and smoothly. It seemed as if they were here everyday. I watched a man in front of us enter a store. His face was red and warm. I could feel the heat radiating off of his cheeks. One of his hands were clenched tightly into a fist. The other was across his body, squeezing his other wrist. I couldn't imagine what made this man this unhappy. He sat a torn, green and blue flannel in front of the register. The young innocent cashier stood there with a rosy face as he proceeded to scream. There's nothing I could do but watch.
